Northern group rejects endorsement of Sen. Urji Uzor Kalu for 2023 presidency

Coalition of Northern groups has rejected the endorsement of former Abia State Governor, Sen. Urji Uzor Kalu, for the presidency in 2023, by hired Jobless Northern Youths and politicians. The group, in a communique on sunday after its emergency meeting in Kaduna, issued by the National Convener, Comr. Sani Saidu Muhammad, described Kalu's endorsement as “hasty, self-serving and does not have the mandate of the generality of Northerners,” and demanded the immediate withdrawal of the endorsement. He Also add that Sen. Urji kalu, during his administration as the Governor of Abia State, raped the economy the state to comma. Nigeria does not need such a person with such record. Nigeria needs a brand new Person with clean record. Nigeria can't continue to be making mistake all the time. The endorsement of Kalu by Arewa hired Persons, is an acceptance of guilt by those Northerners and an indictment to Northern Nigeria. “The South has eminently qualified persons capable of transforming Nigeria if given the chance by the electorate to serve as President in 2023,” the communique reads. “To this end, we view Kalu’s endorsement as too hasty and self-serving. Those clamouring for him to run for the presidency chose to jump the gun in what can only be interpreted as self-serving and an attempt to stampede the Progress of the Southern bloc. “How some Jobless Youths, who are part of us, joined the bandwagon of some selfish Northern Politicians to engage in the controversial outing, is shocking and disappointing “Whatever happened between Kalu and the politicians is a nullity and does not reflect the mood of Northern people.” The coalition further stressed that some Northern leaders were already in the process of consultations across party lines to shop for the best candidate who would not only represent the interest of Ndigbo, but also has capacity and broad-mindness to carry along all Nigerians, irrespective of religion, tribe or political leanings. “Nigerians are not ready to mess up the opportunity to present their best to Nigerians, as many prominent persons are being consulted before zeroing on one or two candidates among those interested in contesting the position. “Coalition of Northern Groups vehemently opposes Kalu’s hasty endorsement for president of the country in 2023,” it added. #BreakingNews See less

Chief CBN EZENDIGBO THE DETRIBALISED LEADER NIGERIAN'S DESERVES

EZENDIGBO THE DETRIBALISED LEADER NIGERIA DESERVES It is not only Nigerians but also bewildered foreigners who wonder aloud why a country so blessed with human and natural resources is not presently challenging at the top of the summit of global economic powers. Many reasons (for excuses) have been variously adduced to explain Nigeria's relative underdevelopment, ranging from political instability to its heterogeneity. The point of convergence among informed commentators, however, is that the missing variable has been quality leadership. Historically, no country had stumbled on development. Societies that have developed faster than others have invariably been principally blessed with detribalised, vibrant, visionary, selfless leaders, who worked hard to inspire their people to greater heights. As the legendry Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew, once told a Nigerian admirer, the secret of his country's historic transformation from obscur...

My Stand on the Guinea Coup I, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, Member of Nigeria Parliament representing Ideato Federal Constituency

and Constitutional Democracy Advocate, strongly condemn the military coup in Guinea, while also emphasizing that the deposed President's actions warranted consequences. The President's disqualification of major opponents from contesting against him was a blatant disregard for democracy and the people's right to choose their leaders. Any illegal takeover of power, whether through hijacking the democratic process, manipulating the judiciary or parliament, or military overthrow, is unacceptable and illegal. Guinea should start anew, focusing on a fresh transition led by ECOWAS. The African Union and ECOWAS must prioritize the sanctity of democracy, ensuring inclusive and transparent participation and processes. I call for the deposed President's arrest and trial for treason, undermining the constitution, electoral process, and the people's power to choose. This serves as a warning to leaders attempting to subvert democracy. Democracy demands accountability, tran...

In a joint communique issued by the Northern Youths Assembly, the groups expressed their confidence in Senator Kalu's leadership qualities and track record of business, political and administrative leadership sagacity. As a successful business mogul and renowned philanthropist, Senator Kalu has demonstrated competence in the Nigerian public space and has earned the confidence and trust of the president-elect, vice president-elect, his fellow senators, and Nigerians in general. The Northern Youths Assembly for Good Governance believes that Senator Kalu's unprecedented life-changing projects executed as a senator representing Abia North Senatorial District are a testament to the fact that he is capable of superintending over a Senate that will come up with legislation capable ...
